Stuff about me...
Residing and playing music in Central Oregon since 1986, I have been honored to meet, befriend, and jam with many amazingly talented folks in the area. I perform with local theater groups for productions like Shrek, Rent, Evita, and Avenue Q, and I am currently a member of four popular local area bands.
I have studied drums and percussion since 1982. Many of those years were spent sharpening my craft from performing in church as a kid, in junior high pep band and glee club, high school concert band, jazz band, marching band, jazz ensembles and combos in college, as well as dozens of jazz, rock, alternative, pop, country, blues, and reggae bands.
These years of music education and much more education through experience has afforded me the pursuit of teaching. I am the percussion department chair at Cascade School of Music in Bend and teach kids and adult students, beginner through advanced, privately and in group classes. I am also the Performance & Ensembles Manager. I direct a percussion ensemble and drumline. I coach percussion students for COYO and local middle and high schools to prepare students for performances and college auditions. I teach privately at my home studio in Redmond as well.
Compositions:
I create educational materials and online courses on social media platforms like Youtube and Instagram. It's the wave of the future and the future is now!
I compose drumline cadences and arrange music for percussion ensemble.
I compose and arrange drumless backing tracks for practice.
